The Motivation for this Website
Founded in 2024, the Center for Refugee Identity (CRI) was born from a deeply personal place. As a refugee myself, fleeing the Vietnam War, I experienced firsthand the overwhelming challenges of arriving in a new country. The struggle of accessing essential services and building a new life can feel overwhelming and isolating, particularly in an unfamiliar place and time of uncertainty. That's why I created CRI. Here, I envisioned a single, comprehensive resource center where refugees could find the information, support, and community they desperately need. More than just a website, CRI is a beacon of hope. My story is just one of millions. Through CRI, I want to offer the support I wish I had during my own resettlement.
